Jayce Dobie

Jayce Dobie

Dual-threat Dobie. West Valley opponents have experienced multiple sides of Jayce Dobie in 2024. The sophomore P/UT from Santa Clara has been an essential part of the Coast-South champions...at the plate, on the field and on the mound.

Dobie, usually ensconced as the cleanup hitter on coach Bobby Hill’s “murderer’s row” lineup card, has had another monster year statistically for the Vikings. As a pitcher, Dobie has started 10 games, 2nd on the team, compiling a 2-1 W/L mark and 7.22 K/9 in 38.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Dobie has slashed (AVG/OBP/SLG) a team-leading .376/.497/.662, has clubbed a co-team high nine dingers (Unangst, Stelling) and driven in 44 runs, one behind WVC leader Alan Ramirez. He has just two errors in 47 chances, a .957 fielding %.

Needless to say, the 2024 Vikings, who earned the north #3 seed for the upcoming 3C2A playoffs, will go as far as Jayce Dobie takes them.
