Viking Volley Win Streak Extends to 6

The West Valley women's volleyball team secured their sixth consecutive win with a three-set sweep of visiting Las Positas College on Friday night, boasting set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-17. The Vikings took an early lead in the first set, largely attributed to Taylor Vales and her multiple-point service runs. She concluded the match with a team-high seven service aces. Sets 2 and 3 featured back-and-forth action between both teams before West Valley managed to create separation in the middle of each set, ultimately prevailing 25-18, 25-17.

Sydney Pista led the offense for the Vikings, topping the team in both attack attempts and kills for the match with 21 and 14, respectively. Alex Franklin recorded a team-high 12 digs, contributing to the Viking defense that held Las Positas to a team attack efficiency of -.067 for the match. Maggie Carroll and Sophie Ehret both led the team in blocks with 2 each.

The Vikings return to action on Wednesday, October 18, when they travel to Ohlone. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. The Vikings return home on Friday, October 20, to face Gavilan College at 6:30 p.m.
