Win Streak Hits Eight as Vikings Sweep Rams

The West Valley women's volleyball team captured their 8th consecutive win with a 3-set sweep of Gavilan College, with scores of 25-14, 25-10, and 25-9. In set 1, the Vikings traded points with the Rams early on before Francesca Zanotti and Taylor Vales delivered multiple point service runs, to open a significant lead. The Vikings, led by Sophie Ehret and Julia LaPierre, each with 4 kills, achieved a .310 team hitting percentage in set 1. In set 2, the Vikings jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Led by Aubree Lang, who had a match-high 9 kills and a .400 hitting percentage, the Vikings were supported by multiple service aces from Sophie Ehret and Taylor Vales. In set 3, the Vikings increased their offensive production, attaining a match-high .333 team hitting percentage. Kayla Rauscher led the Vikings with 3 kills in the set, while the Vikings held the Rams to a .000 offensive efficiency, largely due to Taylor Vales, who recorded 8 digs in the set and a match-high total of 21 digs.
