Alex Jones joined West Valley as an assistant beach and indoor coach in 2015.  Prior to joining the Vikings' staff, Jones spent four seasons playing Division 1 men's volleyball at Cal State Northridge and at the University of Hawaii.  He helped lead his team to an NCAA tournament birth in the 2015 season.
 

Jones played in three world championships as a member of the USA Junior National Beach Team from 2012-2014, finishing as high as 5th place. Alex came to West Valley after serving as a boys club volleyball coach for the Rockstar Volleyball Club in 2012-2015.  As a boys club coach, he won a bronze medal at the Junior National Championships in the 14-and-under division in 2013.  Jones has also served as a boys club volleyball coach at Mountain View Volleyball Club in Sunnyvale, CA and at A'o a koa Volleyball Club in Oahu, Hawaii.
 
In addition to his club coaching experience, Alex served as a coach for the under-17 USA Beach Volleyball program in 2014.  He led three teams to medals at the 2014 USA Beach High Performance Championships. Alex is currently a boys club volleyball coach for Bay to Bay volleyball club.
