Marco Salvetti ran down a fly ball in foul territory and then threw out a Mission runner tagging from third for a game-ending double play to secure the West Valley baseball team's 13-12 win at Mission Tuesday afternoon. The game was a continuation of a 3/13 game suspended because of darkness with the Saints leading 10-6 in the seventh. The Vikings tied it at 10-10 with four runs in the top of the seventh on four walks, a hit batter and a Jake Pao single. Zach Smits homered in the eighth to lift WVC to an 11-10 lead, but the Saints put up two in the home half for a 12-11 lead. In the Viking ninth, Hunter Schilperoort doubled off the fence at center to drive home Salvetti, who reached with a leadoff walk. Schilperoort crossed with the winning run on Nate Petrov's single down the first base line.
