The West Valley baseball team stayed in the playoff hunt with a come-from-behind 2-1 win at crosstown rival De Anza Saturday afternoon. The Vikings (18-17, 6-9 Coast-Golden Gate) spotted the Dons (17-17, 6-9) a 1-0 lead through three. Jake Pao evened it up with a solo homer in the top of the fourth and then, after ripping a double, gave WVC the lead for good in the sixth when he scored on a Zach Smits RBI single. Pao and Erik Ochoa both finished 2-4, and Viking starter Hunter Schilperoort picked up the win, scattering five hits and striking out six in five innings pitched. West Valley and the Dons face off again Tuesday (4/17) at Valhalla. First pitch is 2:30pm.
