The West Valley baseball team dropped a 7-1 Coast-Golden Gate Conference game at Chabot Thursday afternoon. The loss damaged the postseason hopes of the Vikings (19-18, 7-10 Coast-GG) and kept the Gladiators (19-17, 11-6) in the hunt for the league title. Erik Ochoa knocked in the lone Viking run with a one-run single in the eighth. Nick Johnson took the loss, giving up three runs on four hits and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings. The two teams battle again Saturday (4/21) at Valhalla. First pitch is 1:00pm.
