Cae Cox was superlative in relief as he led West Valley past crosstown rival De Anza 2-1 Tuesday in Cupertino, the fourth consecutive win for WVC. Cox came on in the top of the seventh, a half inning after Jacob Serpa put the Vikings up 2-1 with an RBI Sacrifice fly to left that drove in Anthony Cortese with the eventual winning run, and struck out the first two Mountain Lions he faced. He did it again in the eighth and then set the Lions down in order in the bottom of the ninth. He would finish with six K's in three scoreless innings.

Ryan Lordier gave WVC a 1-0 lead in the top of the third with an RBI triple that scored Andrew Wilford. Lordier and Wilford would each finish with two of WVC's six hits.
