The West Valley men's basketball team outscored De Anza 46-28 in the second half to send the Dons back to Cupertino with a 75-58 loss in Wednesday night's Coast-South Conference opener. Beattie Roggasch III led the second half charge with 12 points, including back-to-back threes. Delvon Nisby also canned a pair of treys on his way to 10 points after the break. Cristian Mejia topped all scorers with 20, followed by 18 from Roggasch and 16 from Nisby. The Vikings (10-7, 1-0 Coast) ended the game with eight three-pointers and went 10-11 from the line in the second to erase a 30-29 halftime lead for the Dons (6-10, 0-1). The Vikings host Gavilan (14-1), the state's 5th-ranked team Friday. Tipoff is 7:00pm.
