The West Valley basketball team's season came to an end Wednesday on a rainy night in Sacramento. Sacramento City's Greg Milton poured in 39 points to lead the Panthers to a 74-51 win over the Vikings in the opening round of the CCCAA NorCal playoffs.

A slow-paced first half - it was 10-9 Panthers with 8:43 left - ended with Sac City in front 32-21. Milton caught fire after the break, canning 25 points, including six treys. Devante Johnson closed out an illustrious Viking career with a team-high 13 points, while Ryan Hewitt finished with 12. West Valley finished the year 14-15 overall, 8-4 in the Coast-South Conference.
