Sufyan Elkannan lit up Cabrillo's Adobe Palace with six three pointers to lead West Valley to a big 77-54 win over the rival Seahawks Wednesday night. Elkannan started off the game with a deep three in front of the Seahawk bench and would hit three more in the half to fuel the Vikings to a 34-26 lead at the break.

Two of the best defensive teams in the Coast battled back and forth to start the second half, until back-to-back-to-back treys from Quinn Denker, Ben Baker and Denker again gave the Vikings (18-3, 6-0 Coast-South) a 52-40 lead with 11:40 to go. The West Valley defense would hold Cabrillo (11-8, 3-2) to 14 points the rest of the way, while the state's second-highest scoring offense would put up 25 of their own.

Elkannan led WVC with 22 points, while Denker and Baker finished with 16 and 10, respectively.

West Valley hosts De Anza (4-17, 0-6) Friday. Tipoff is 5:30pm.
