Rudolfo Castro's two goals and two assists led the West Valley men's soccer team to a 5-2 win over rival Foothill Saturday in Saratoga. Makenna Pendleton added a pair of goals, including one just four minutes in on a helper from Alexis Rincon. Castro threaded his first helper to Pendleton in the 26th minute to break a 1-1 tie and then converted a PK two minutes later to give the Vikings (2-1) a 2-1 lead at the break. After Brandon Holguin scored at 57' to bring the Owls (0-1-1) to within 3-2, Castro knocked home another PK for a 4-2 Viking lead. Jose Canada found the back of the net at :81 to close out the scoring. West Valley hits the road for important contests on 9/13 at Clovis (1-1-1) and on 9/15 at defending state champion Fresno City (1-0-3).
