Matthew Korpontinos buried the game-winning goal in the 90th minute to help the West Valley men's soccer team escape with a 2-1 win at rival Foothill Friday afternoon. Goevany Hernandez gave the Owls (3-6-2, 1-3-1 Coast-North) a 1-0 lead at 18' and it would stay that way until near the end of regular time. Rodolfo Castro bent in the equalizer at the 88th minute and then would feed Korpontinos with the game-winner two minutes later. The Vikings (10-1-1, 6-0-0 Coast-South), who extended their unbeaten streak to ten fixtures with the win, have a bye Tuesday before traveling to Canada (6-4-2, 2-3-1 Coast-South) Friday (10/19) for a 4:00pm contest against the Colts.
