Alexis Rincon booted the game-winner 30 seconds into the second half, igniting the West Valley men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Napa Valley Monday in Saratoga. The CCCAA NorCal first round playoff victory sends the Vikings (16-2-2) to the second round this week at West Valley (opponent, date, time TBD).

After a scoreless first half, Matthew Korpontinos corralled a rebound and fed the perfectly-positioned Rincon in front of the goal for a 1-0 Viking lead 30 seconds after the break. West Valley would put an insurance goal on the board in the 59th minute. Coast Conference scoring leader Rodolfo Castro was fouled just outside the Storm box and proceeded to bend a laser around the right side of the wall into the net. Leo Fernandez provided the icing with an 89th-minute goal off a Bryan Palencia helper. Yannick Lamers was clean in goal again, stopping all three Napa Valley shots for his seventh shutout of the season.
