The West Valley men's soccer team opened the second half of the Coast Conference season with an important 1-0 win on a foggy Friday at Skyline College. The win keeps the Vikings (7-5-1, 3-2-1 Coast South) squarly in the 2022 postseason picture.

Ricard Tovar connected on the game winner - his third goal in two weeks - in the 67th minute off an assist from WVC goalkeeper Connor Faries. Faries would earn the clean sheet for his seventh win of the season.

The Vikings are off until Oct. 21, when they host City College of San Francisco (8-3-0, 3-2-0 Coast North) at Dick Schwendinger Field. Kickoff is 4:00pm.
