Tournament MVP Xavier Domingo blasted seven second-half goals to lead the West Valley men's water polo team to a 15-6 win over Merced and the CCCAA Men's NorCal championship Sunday afternoon in Saratoga. The Blue Devils (26-6) held Domingo scoreless in the opening half, but the freshman 2M repeatedly connected from the three-spot in the second. Up 6-3 at the break, the Vikings (22-5) exploded for five goals in the third to take an 11-5 lead into the final stanza. A 4-1 fourth sent the Vikings to next weekend's state championship tournament as the #1 NorCal seed. West Valley takes on south #2 LA Valley (24-5) in the tourney opener at 11:45am. The 2018 CCCAA Men's and Women's State Championships are this Friday-Saturday (11/16-17) at the West Valley Aquatics Center.
