The West Valley men's water polo team enjoyed a 6-5 halftime lead, but was outscored 5-2 in the second half as LA Valley pulled away for an intense 10-8 victory in the semifinal of the 2018 CCCAA Men's Water Polo State Championships in Saratoga Saturday. The Vikings (22-6) will take on Coast Conference rival Merced (27-7), which fell 11-2 to Golden West in the evening semifinal, Saturday at noon on the state 3rd place game.
