Malia Pula blasted her fifth homer of the season, but it wasn't enough as the West Valley softball team fell 8-4 to league-leading Monterey Peninsula Thursday in Monterey. Pula gave the Vikings (10-8, 1-2 Coast) a 4-2 lead in the 5th, but the Lobos (16-3-1, 3-0) struck for three runs in both the 5th and 6th for the comeback win. The Vikings host Solano and College of the Redwoods Saturday (3/10). Game times are noon and 2:00pm.
