Saturday's 10-0 loss to Sierra in the second game of the best-of-three CCCAA NorCal playoff series ended the season for the coach Vicky Piatt and the West Valley softball team. However, 2018's record of 18-18 represented an eight-game turnaround from 2017's 10-25, with six Vikings - first-teamers Jessell Lewis, Malia Pul and Haley Walker, and second-team selections Samantha Fletes, Maddy Lucey and Siobhan Taylor - earning All-Coast-South Conference honors.
