Jake McKenzie joined the Viking softball staff in 2011. McKenzie is responsible for outfield defense for the Vikings and he brings more than 20 years of softball coaching experience at the travel ball, high school and junior college levels.

Prior to West Valley, he was an assistant coach for two seasons at Fremont High and was the head coach for three seasons at Mountain View High.

A native of Pearl City, Hawaii, McKenzie has two daughters, Elina and Enika, and five grandchildren. He resides in San Jose and works as a supervisor at Home Depot. In his spare time, he plays competitive and recreational softball, which he has done for over 30 years.
