The West Valley women's soccer team tied Highway 17 rival Cabrillo 1-1 Friday afternoon in Saratoga. Alex Spatola gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead 46 minutes in, redirecting a Daniela Mendoza pass off a corner kick from Jasmine Gonzalez. The Seahawks (2-5-2, 0-1-1 Coast-South) evened it up two minutes later when Riley Malafronte knocked in an Evanda Goad pass from the right side of the box. The Vikings (4-8-1, 0-1-1) head to Hartnell Oct. 3 for a 4pm contest against the Panthers.
