The West Valley women's soccer team and Las Positas, two of the top teams in northern California, battled to an intense 1-1 tie Friday in Saratoga. Ashely Wallace's team-high 14th goal of 2018 gave the Vikings (9-2-4, 4-1-1 Coast-South) a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute off a find from Melanie Asquith. The lead would hold up until Paola Samaniego got the equalizer for the Hawks (10-1-3, 3-0-1 Coast-North) at the end of stoppage time. West Valley hits the road Tuesday (10/16) for a key Coast contest at City College of San Francisco (9-3-1, 5-1-1 Coast-North). Kickoff is 1:30pm.
