The West Valley women's soccer team fell 2-0 at frigid Lake Tahoe Tuesday night in the second round of the CCCAA NorCal playoffs. Four days after pulling off one of the biggest wins in regional playoff history, a 1-0 shutout at defending champion Fresno City, the Viking offense couldn't get rolling against the undefeated Coyotes. That offense led the 2018 Vikings to a 13-5-5 overall record, it's best mark since 2006. Coach Jennifer Kerwin's squad outscored opponents 70-21 this year, 44-11 in the Coast Conference. Ashley Wallace led the Coast with 18 goals and was 2nd in total points with 42. Holly Hopwood battled through injuries to finish 4th in the conference with nine goals. April Lopez was 2nd in the league with 10 assists. Samantha Coelho, who played every minute of the year in goal, recorded ten shutouts and topped the league in saves (77), save percentage (.786) and goals-against (0.91).
