The West Valley women's soccer team took the enthusiasm and success they display on the pitch and in the classroom to their community recently. Coach Jennifer Kerwin's Vikings participated in clinics on San Jose's Eastside and participated in two events for the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative (BAWSI). The Vikings helped out with a BAWSI-Girls at Rosemary Elementary in Campbell. BAWSI-Girls is a free after-school fitness & confidence building program where female athletes inspire 2nd-5th grade girls to be active, believe in themselves and improve their beliefs, attitudes and behaviors about physical activity. The team then assisted Saratoga Pediatric Sub-Acute with a BAWSI-Rollers event, which provides activities for boys and girls with physical, cognitive and hearing disabilities. Coach Kerwin returned with these photos of the Vikings exemplifying the Viking Way.
