Ex-Viking Sequeira becomes "household name" on Menlo College defense

Megan Sequeira
One year after graduating from West Valley as one of the most dominant defenders in Viking women's soccer history, Megan Sequeira started every match for Menlo College in 2019.

Sequiera, according to Menlo Sports Information Director Ryan Barnett, became a "household name" on the Oaks' back line. She was one of 13 new players for second-year Menlo coach Zlatan Sahmanovic, helping the Oaks to their fifth consecutive Golden State Athletic Conference tournament appearance.

As a Viking, the Santa Clara native was a two-time All-Coast Conference first-teamer, and, in 2018, was the team's Defensive MVP and the recipient of the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete Award.

The 2020 season looks promising for Menlo, as the Oaks lost only one player to graduation in 2019, return their leading scorer, an exceptional keeper and their entire back line - anchored by former West Valley Viking, Megan Sequeira.
