West Valley swimmers Sayeh Faridnia and Alexandra Ruzsa captured individual titles at the 2018 Coast Conference Championships Thursday at the West Valley Aquatics Center. Faridnia swam away with the 200 Individual Medley in 2:10:96 and Ruzsa finished at 25:26 in the 50 Freestyle to outreach Las Positas's Gabriela Perez Del Rio by :03. Nicholas Butelet finished second in the 500 Freestyle to LPC's Andrew Doss by :00.12. Las Positas leads both the men's and women's team rankings after day one of the three-day meet. The West Valley men are second and the women fifth. The championships continue Friday with the first event scheduled for 10:00am.
