Abby Salazar serves against Santa Rosa

The West Valley women's tennis team hosted its first home match in three decades Tuesday. The Vikings entertained perennial NorCal power Santa Rosa Jr. College and fell 6-1 to the Bear Cubs. Vikings Lydia Tellgren, Abigail Salazar, Sovanny Thach and Arlenne Quinones dropped straight-set singles matches, while Samantha Garcia won her match by default. Tellegren/Salazar and Quinones/Garcia fell in their doubles matches. The Vikings (0-2) host Monterey Peninsula (0-0) Thursday (2/14) at 2:00pm. Match photos by Katey Holland.
