It was a beautiful day, finally, for a tennis match in Saratoga. Under sunny-but-chilly skies, the West Valley tennis team celebrated four sophomores - Sonya Hu, Brynn McKenzie, Abigail Prokter and Tal Volinsky - and then shut out visiting Ohlone before a crowd of friends, family and alumni.
The Vikings (11-1, 10-0 Coast) didn't surrender a single game to the Renegades (0-8, 0-8), sweeping six matches and gathering a trio of forfeits. West Valley closes out the regular season next week with a pair of matches at Cañada (3-4, 2-3) on April 4 and at home against Chabot (7-5, 7-1) on April 6, a match that can earn WVC the outright Coast title. First serve at both is 2:00pm.
