A trio of double-digit hitters lifted the West Valley volleyball team to a wild five-set win over San Mateo Tuesday night in Saratoga. The Sophomore Celebration night win capped a 5-1 streak in the second half of the Coast-North and helped the Vikings (15-9, 8-4 Coast) leapfrog the Bulldogs (20-9, 7-5) into 3rd place on the final night of the league campaign. Kaylin Henderson connected on a match-high 19 kills, while front-line mates Mapu Sekona knocked down 15 and Shannon Greene had 13, to go along with five blocks. Rene Wash led a Viking Block Party at the net with six total and two solo stuffs. Audrey Fernandez and Angelica Reyna served up four and two aces, respectively. This week's NorCal playoff seedings will determine next Tuesday's playoff foe and match location.
