The West Valley volleyball team capped a one of the best seasons in program history with a fifth-place finish at the 2018 CCCAA Volleyball State Championships at Solano College last weekend. Kaylin Henderson was named to the All-Tournament team as the Vikings fell to defending champion Irvine Valley 25-16, 25-20, 25-22 in a tight three-setter. The first all northern California final in the event's 42-year history saw American River rally to top Fresno City 25-18, 23-25, 17-25, 26-24, 15-8 in an epic battle.
