The West Valley volleyball swept its fourth match in a row with a 25-11, 25-13, 25-16 win over visiting Monterey Peninsula Friday night. The Vikings (14-7, 5-1 Coast) served up 15 aces to keep the Lobos (8-9, 2-4) from mounting any consistent offensive attack all match long. Hannah Moore accounted for six of those aces, including two straight at a critical juncture in the third set that extended the WVC lead to 11-8. Audrey Fernandez landed three straight aces in the second set to boost the Vikings to an insurmountable 21-8 advantage. Moore finished the night with a team-high 10 kills, while Aaryan Hashimi connected on 64% of her swings to finish with seven. Jaida Ward hit at a 46% clip to finish with six impactful kills. Della Trimble recorded 17 assists and seven digs and joined Fernandez and Hashimi with three aces. West Valley continues its five-match homestand Oct. 30 against San Jose City (9-8, 2-4). First serve is 6:30pm.
