The West Valley men's basketball team closed out the regular season with an uninspiring 98-77 loss to Coast-South co-champion Cabrillo Friday night in Saratoga. The Vikings (15-13, 6-6 Coast-South) fell behind 9-0 and could not come back against the hot-shooting Seahawks (16-10, 9-3). Delvon Nisby put up a game-high 29 points, and Devante Johnson ended the night with 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Linton Acliese and Kobe Ordonio each had 26 points to lead Cabrillo, while Tynan Velasquez finished with 25 points, 12 assists and five steals.

Johnson ended the regular season leading the Vikings with 19.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Nisby knocked down 15.9 per game and Cristian Mejia averaged 14.8 per contest. The Vikings, who finished tied for third in the Coast-South with Monterey Peninsula, await Monday's CCCAA NorCal playoff seeding meeting to see if their season continues.
