2019 schedule loaded with playoff teams for back-to-back champs

Men's soccer

After consecutive Coast titles and deep NorCal playoff runs in 2017 and 2018, the West Valley men's soccer team faces a 19-fixture schedule featuring 12 playoff teams from last year. The regular season starts with a home game against perennial state powerhouse Mt. San Antonio College, the 2016 CCCAA champion, on Aug. 31. Two weeks later, on Sept. 14, the 2017 state champion, Fresno City, visits Dick Schwendinger Field for a rematch of the 2017 NorCal final. Ten other playoff teams dot the calender, including six from the Coast: Cañada, De Anza, Hartnell, Las Positas, San Francisco and Skyline. SoCal playoff team LA Mission and, from the north, Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe and 2018 WVC postseason foe Napa Valley round out the schedule.
