Mya Galindo's three-run double highlighted a six-run first inning as the West Valley softball team held off Butte 11-6 Saturday at Fresno City College. Galindo lined a shot to center to score Hunter Miramontes, Megumi Pennebaker and Angelina Molina after RBI singles from Maricela Matos and Miramontes and a bases-loaded walk to Molina. Alexis Palmon picked up the complete-game win in the circle. The Vikings (8-8, 1-3 Coast-South) bounced back from a gut-wrenching 10-9 loss to Fresno City Friday. WVC had a 9-5 lead with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but the Rams put four across to grab the walk-off win. Carinne Peterson had a big day at the plate, going 3-4 with five RBI on a double and a three-run homer in the third. The Vikings resume Coast Conference action Tuesday (3/19) at Foothill (21-3, 2-1) at 3pm. Cabrillo (12-6, 2-1) comes to Saratoga Wednesday (3/20) for a 3:30pm contest.
