Gray, Higginbotham, Goldin and Fleming lead Viking swim to CCSF Invitational team title

The West Valley men's and women's swimming teams opened 2020 in impressive fashion with a combined team title at the City College of San Francisco Invitational.
 
Heather Gray won all five events she entered: 200 Free (2:01.82), 200 Fly (2:16.17), 100 IM (1:03.95), 200 IM (2:15.95), 100 Fly (58.85). Maria Higginbotham was first in the 50 Free (25.93), the 500 Free (5:37.80), and the 100 Free (56.45), while Alexis Goldin captured the 100 Breast (1:15.98), and the 50 Breast (34.79). The Viking women dominated the relays, taking first place in the 200 Medley, the 200 Freestyle, the 400 Freestyle and the 400 Medley.
 
On the men's side, Ben Fleming was first in the 50 Back (25.92) and the 100 Free (48.62). David McKenna was second in the 100 IM (1:02.44) and third in the 100 Back (1:02.57). The men's 200 Freestyle relay finished just behind defending state champion Sierra with a time of 1:34.66.
