Knocking off Coast Conference rival Cabrillo in the 2018 NorCal final to advance to the CCCAA State Championship Tournament has elevated expectations for coach Armen Zakarian's West Valley volleyball squad. Conference realignment has given the Coast a new look, but the recently-released Viking schedule is filled with familiar foes and regional powerhouses and three of the 2018 state Elite Eight teams. Cabrillo and Hartnell have moved to the Coast-North, trading places with Cañada and De Anza, who join first-year Mission in the South, along with WVC, Gavilan, Monterey Peninsula, San Francisco and San Jose. West Valley's schedule features the three other NorCal state finalists - Gavilan (twice), Fresno City and defending state champ American River. Not-to-be-missed home dates include a pair of three-way matches against NorCal finalists: Folsom Lake and Fresno City on Sept. 11 at 1pm and 5pm, and Sept. 19 vs. Sierra and Feather River at 1pm and 3pm.  November boasts a pair of key Coast home matches against Gavilan on the 6th at 6:30pm and De Anza on the 13th, also at 6:30pm.
