An efficient Viking offense turned 17 hits into 16 RBI and 17 runs in West Valley's 17-1 win over City College of San Francisco in the Coast-North Conference opener Tuesday in Aptos.

After jumping out 2-0 in the first, WVC put four runs on the board in the second, highlighted by three-run homer from Curran Ozawa-Burns. An RBI triple from Connor Leaverton helped WVC (10-8, 1-0 Coast-North) extend its lead to 11-1 after six. Tristan Silveira's two-run single keyed West Valley's four-run seventh.

Cole Murchison finished with a 4-4, two-RBI, two-run line, while Jacob Dressler went 4-5 with two RBI and two runs-scored. Henry Wright also had a two-hit, two runs-scored day. Starter Cae Cox took the win, scattering eight hits and striking out four in six innings.
