West Valley locked up a postseason berth with an explosive 12-8 win at the College of San Mateo Tuesday. The win clinches at least a second-place finish for the Vikings (24-15, 14-5 Coast-North), who sit two games ahead of the Bulldogs (21-16-1, 12-7) and Chabot (24-13, 12-7) and a game back of Skyline (29-8, 15-4) with a game left to play. West Valley hosts CSM at Mission College, while Skyline travels to Chabot in Thursday's conference finales. First pitch is 2:30pm.

The Vikings never trailed Tuesday, thanks to another incendiary outing from Curran Ozawa-Burns, who clubbed his NorCal-leading 11th and 12th home runs for six RBI to almost single-handedly outscore CSM. After giving the Vikings a 4-0 lead with a solo shot in the top of the fifth, Ozawa-Burns helped seal the game with an eight-inning grand slam.

WVC took an 8-0 lead through five, but the Bulldogs clawed their way back with one run in the sixth and five in the seventh. The Vikings made it 12-6 in the top of the eighth on the Ozawa-Burns blast that knocked in Cole Murchison, Jacob Dressler and Weston Scoffone, who had all walked.

After CSM added a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth, Viking reliever Michael Dixson got Karl Peters looking and Jordan Aguallo to fly out to right to end the game.

In addition to Ozawa-Burns' 4-4, six-RBI, three-runs-scored outing, Murchison was 3-4 with an RBI and a pair of doubles and Jaden Mazzaferro finished 2-4 with an RBI. Starter Ryan Sleeman picked up the win, giving up one run on four hits and striking out five in six innings.
