The West Valley basketball team improved to 3-0 on the young season with an 82-72 win at the College of Marin Tuesday night. Elijah Mahi canned a season-high 31 points, 20 in the first half, to lead the Vikings.
WVC led the tight game 42-34 at halftime and then outscored the Mariners (1-3) 40-38 in the second half to claim the victory.
Jeremiah Dargan followed Mahi in the scorebook with 13 points, while Malik Patton finished with 10. Harry Nauci and Baron Bracey each finished with 8.
West Valley over Sierra 76-54
Bracey's game-high 18 points the Vikings past the Wolverines on Friday. Noah Yang finished with 17 points, five rebounds and a pair of assists, while Mahi recorded 12 points, five rebounds and six assists. Dargan had a game-high seven rebounds.
The Vikings host Fresno City College (2-0) Friday (11/11). Tipoff is 3:00pm.
