It was a 39-29 point lead for the West Valley basketball team at halftime against visiting Alameda Tuesday night. The Vikings (5-0) then dominated the second half on both ends of the court, outscoring the Cougars (2-4) 49-15 on their way to an 88-44 win.

Elijah Mahi paced the opening half with nine of his team-high 16 points. Ryan MacArthur drained a trio of treys for nine second-half points. Baron Bracey and Ignacio Bettinelli joined Mahi in double figures with 11 each, followed by MacArthur's nine and eight apiece from Ariya Briscoe, Jeremiah Dargan and Aaron Ragen.

The Vikings head up the peninsula for the College of San Mateo Classic Nov. 17-18. WVC takes on Merced (2-2) Thursday at 3:00pm and Foothill (2-0) Friday at 5:00pm.
