The long-running West Valley Holiday Classic hits the hardwood Friday and Saturday, with two familiar foes and a newcomer coming to Saratoga. The showcase features Coast Conference rivals Chabot and Hartnell and SoCal's Santa Barbara City College, out of the Western State-North Conference. The Vikings open Friday's action against SBCC at 2:00pm, followed by Chabot vs. Hartnell at 4:00pm. Saturday starts with Hartnell against SBCC at 1:00pm and concludes with West Valley taking on Chabot at 3:00pm.

West Valley (11-1, 0-0 Coast-South) at a glance:

The Vikings come into the Classic ranked #2 in NorCal and #4 in the state in the most recent CCCMBCA rankings. They are 3rd in the state with 44.5 rebounds-per-game (RPG) and are 13th in points-per-game (PPG) at 85.0. They hold opponents to 62.6 PPG, which is 2nd in the CCCAA, and out-rebound their competition by a state-best 18.3 RPG. WVC also hands out 18 assists-per-game (APG). Elijah Mahi paces the WVC stat sheet with a team high 16.6 PPG, along with 6.6 RPG and 3.1 APG. Fellow freshman Jeremiah Dargan leads the team with 4.8 APG, and is averaging 13.9 PPG and 7.2 RPG. Malik Patton leads WVC with 7.8 RPG and is scoring 9.6 PPG.

Chabot (5-4, 0-0 Coast-North) at a glance:

The Gladiators have outscored their opponents 80.9 to 71.7 and are averaging 37.3 RPG and 15.7 APG. They are led by Jaiden Rivera's 17.1 PPG, while Diggy Winbush averages 12.8 PPG, 3.7 RPG and a team-high 4.2 APG. David Hector pulls down a team-high 8.0 RPG and averages 12 PPG and 2.8 APG.

Hartnell (2-10, 0-0 Coast-South) at a glance:

The Coast-South's Panthers are scoring at a 74.3 PPG clip in 2022. They average 26.5 RPG, 8.3 APG and are giving up 77.4 PPG to their opponents. Sophomore Connor Brown leads Hartnell in boards (7.2 RPG) and helpers (5.8 APG) while scoring 16.1 PPG. Fellow sophomore Raleigh Shippen's 16.2 PPG paces the Panthers. Shippen also grabs 3.3 RPG and dishes out 2.3 APG. 

Santa Barbara City College (4-9, 0-0 Western State-North) at a glance:

First-year player Aidan Mandel leads the Vaqueros in scoring (18.2 PPG), rebounds (8.4 RPG) and blocked shots (1.4 BPG). Wilfrid Nado hands out a team-high 3.1 APG. The Vaqueros average 68.5 PPG, while giving up 73.8 PPG. They pull down 30.8 RPG and dish out 13.5 APG.
