West Valley offensive juggernaut Nikola Nikolic has accepted an athletic scholarship to NCAA D1 San José St., WVC coach Willo Rodriguez recently announced. The 6-3 attacker from Nis, Serbia will play for former WVC coach and CCCAA Hall of Famer Bruce Watson, who won six state championships at West Valley.

Nikolic lit up the scoreboard for the 2021 Coast Conference and NorCal champions and state runnerup Vikings, totalling 37 goals (56.9 shooting %), 14 assists, and 10 steals, despite missing five games due to injury. 2021 highlights include a huge 56th Nyquist Tournament at the West Valley Aquatics Center on Sept. 11. Nikolic found the back of the cage a season-high six times in a 22-8 win over Sierra and followed that up with five goals, two assists and three steals in WVC's 17-4 win over Diablo Valley.

Nikolic was named the Coast Conference MVP and a First Team All-American in 2021.
