Coach Willo Rodriguez has guided the Vikings to five consecutive Coast Conference championships (31 straight overall), two state runner-up finishes (2017, 2021) and two state third place finish (2016, 2018) since 2016. Rodriguez just released his team's 2022 schedule and it has a decided "tournament" feel to it: five high-caliber tourneys and five games against four-year opponents. If any team will be prepared for the 2022 CCCAA Water Polo State Tournament in San Diego in mid-November, it will be Rodriguez & Crew.

The season opens Aug. 27 against SoCal powers Citrus and Riverside at the Merced North vs. South Tournament. After a Sept. 3 home doubleheader against San José St. and Santa Clara University, the Vikings play host to the annual Nyquist Invitational, one of the state's longest-running H2O tourneys. A Sept. 17 trip to Malibu for a game against Rodriguez's alma mater Pepperdine University follows and precedes a Sept. 23-24 visit to San Luis Obispo for the prestigious Cuesta College Invitational.

Coast Conference action begins against Ohlone at the West Valley Aquatics Center on Sept. 28 and concludes Oct. 26 vs. Las Positas, also at WVC. The Coast Conference Championship tournament is Saturday, Nov. 5 at West Valley.
