The 2023 West Valley softball has one of the most experienced rosters in coach Vicky Piatt's WVC career. 12 returners, including 2022 All-Coast players Kassady Alcazar (IF), Emma Courtney (OF), Sydney Heming (2B) and Shelby White (P), fill out Piatt's 2023 24-player roster. The Vikings, who ended up 23-17 in 2022, will be counting on their experieince as they embark on one of the toughest schedules in the CCCAA.

11 2022 playoff teams await the Vikings, including all four NorCal state tournament teams - Butte, San Jose City, state runnerup Sierra and state champion College of San Mateo. The Vikings will face San Mateo three times and San Jose twice. They travel to Sierra Feb. 4 and to Butte for a twinbill Feb. 18.

Coast Conference action starts Feb. 23 against San Jose City and concludes April 25 against Cabrillo, both at Viking Field.
