15 playoff teams, two Final Four squads dominate 2021 Viking schedule

The West Valley women's soccer team, after nearly two years without an official CCCAA contest, will take the pitch in 2021 with one of the most competitive schedules in California. 15 playoff teams, including both 2019 CCCAA Final Four NorCal representatives - Lake Tahoe and San Joaquin, dominate the WVC docket.

Viking coach Jennifer Kerwin enters her 26th season in Saratoga with a home-heavy schedule (12 home vs. nine road games) filled with some of the top squads in the CCCAA. WVC opens 2021 with a scrimmage against NCAA D2 San Francisco St. on Aug. 25 at Dick Schwendinger Field. The Vikings then hit the road for a trio of games against 2019 playoff teams, Los Medanos (8/31), and Clovis (9/3) and Ventura (9/4) at the Ventura New Balance Showcase. The home season begins Sept. 7 against perennial NorCal powerhouse Fresno City.

After travelling to 2019 Final Four team Lake Tahoe on Sept. 10, the Vikings host six consecutive playoff squads: Folsom Lake (9/14), American River (9/17), Sierra (9/19), Cańada (9/21), 2019 Final Four team SJ Delta (9/23) and Foothill (10/1).

Derby games include home contests against De Anza (10/8), at Evergreen Valley (10/15), and a home tilt against Cabrillo (10/26).

(The 2021 schedule's dates, times and opponents are subject to change. Spectators, at this time, are welcome at all WVC home games, but fans should check with each institution regarding spectator regulations for all road games. Please watch WVC social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and this website - for information regarding each game.)
