West Valley tennis players Abigail Proktor and Seraphina Vossen teamed up to win the 2021 ITA NorCal Regional Championship last weekend at American River College. The title sends Proktor and Vossen to the ITA Cup National Championship in Rome, GA Oct. 14-17.

Proktor and Vossen were the #1 doubles seed and reached the title match with an 8-6 quarterfinal win over Modesto's Aguilar/McShane and an 8-6 semifinal victory over Modesto's Boliscar/Braneh.

The WVC pair defeated American River's #3-seeded Carla Montaruli and Haley Van Orman 5-0 (retire: injury) for the championship.

The NorCal Regional was one of eight ITA regionals across the USA last week. Proktor and Vossen will be one of eight teams competing for the national title in Georgia.

The busy Proktor and Vossen also reached the semifinal round of the NorCal singles tournament.

Proktor is a first-year player from Westmont High School, while Vossen returns for her second year at WVC after a stellar first year in 2021 as WVC's #1 singles and doubles player.
