Vikings sweep CCSF to clinch Coast-South title

The West Valley volleyball team clinched the Coast-South Conference championship with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-10 win over the feisty City College of San Francisco Rams Friday night in Saratoga. The Vikings (17-3, 10-0 Coast-South) hold a five match lead with three left to play over second-place Monterey Peninsula (11-10, 5-5 CS). The title follows WVC's Coast championship in 2019, the last year of CCCAA competition prior to the pandemic, mneaning back-to-back championships for coach Armen Zakarian's Vikings.

West Valley's attack was led by Taylor Tullo, who finished with a match-high 12 kills, along with six digs and a pair of service aces. Katie Kishton had ten kills and five digs, while Camdyn Albrecht and Keilli Voss hammered five kills apiece. Sydney Rogers handed out 26 assists and leads the CCCAA with 10.18 assists-per-set. Alina Valenti served up five aces, and Kate Blackwell had 10 ups and a trio of aces. Hailey Keith followed Rogers with eight assists.

The Vikings travel to Highway 17 rival Cabrillo (11-7, 7-1 Coast-North) Wednesday, Nov. 10. First serve in Aptos is 4:00pm.
