2021-22 Viking Volley sends seven to four-year schools

Coach Armen Zakarian's indoor/beach volleyball program reached unprecedented heights in 2021-22. Viking indoor captured its second straight Coast-South championship and finished as the CCCAA state runner-up, while Flor Porras and Katie Kishton finished second in the state pairs beach championship. Those accomplishments did not go unnoticed by four-year programs, as seven Vikings recently committed to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level - four at NCAA D1's, two at NCAA D2's and one at a NAIA beach powerhouse.

Taylor Tullo earned a full ride to D2 Hawaii-Hilo. Tullo leaves West Valley as one of the most-decorated athletes in Viking Volley hstory. She was an ACVA All-American, the Coast-South MVP, All-State 1st Team. All-NorCal, All-Coast 1st Team, All-State Tournament in indoor, and All-Coast Conference in beach. Katie Kishton and Alina Valenti, both All-Coast South indoor and All-Coast beach selections, will be playing beach at Santa Clara University and the University of Portland, respectively.

Camdyn Albrecht, All-Coast in beach, is heading to the University of the Pacific, and Kate Blackwell, an indoor All-Coast 2nd-teamer, will play both indoor and beach at Saint Mary's College in Moraga. Elia Duenas, an All-Coast beach player, will joing two-time NAIA national champion Ottawa University in Arizona, while Keilli Voss, who was All-Coast 2nd team in indoor, will take her talents to Cal St. East Bay.
