Since Erika Vargas took over as West Valley coach in 2017, her Vikings have captured three consecutive undefeated Coast Conference championships , the 2019 NorCal title and a 3rd place finish in the 2019 CCCAA State Championship tournament. When the Vikings hit the water in September, after nearly two years away from the pool, their 2021 schedule is filled with elite tournaments and a competitive Coast battlefield.

It all begins Sept. 10 at the prestigious two-day Cuesta College Invitational. WVC hosts the West Valley Invitational (9/17-9/18) and then heads back down south to battle SoCal's finest at the Mt. SAC Invitational. The Vikings open Coast action at Ohlone on Sept. 29 and then host conference foes Cabrillo (10/1), Las Positas (10/1), College of San Mateo (10/6) and City College of San Francisco (10/13). The homestand ends with the ultra-competitive Coast/Big 8 Crossover tournament Oct. 16.

Coast contests continue at Merced (10/22), Foothill (10/22) and Las Positas (10/27). The regular season concludes at the Santa Barbara City College Halloween Invitational (10/29-10/30). The Coast Conference Championships are at San Mateo (11/5-11/6), followed by NorCals at Las Positas (11/12-11/13).
