Coast pairs champions Kaylin Henderson and Mapu Sekona

Kaylin Henderson and Mapuhola Sekona brought home West Valley's first-ever Coast Conference pairs championship with a 21-15, 21-10 sweep of Fresno City's Katie Emmerling and Mia Corippo Friday at Gavilan College. Henderson and Sekona rolled through the field with sweeps in all four rounds to advance to the NorCal championships on May 3 at Sierra College as one of the top seeds.
Viking pairs Claire Danna/Gabriela Valencia and Kayla Keller/Hannah Reynoso went 2-2 in the tourney, while Katrina Hochmuth/Rene Wash finished 0-2 and Elizabeth McGrath/Lizhya Shoomoonof were eliminated in their opening match. All five WVC pairs will compete in the NorCal Team Championships Wednesday, May 1 at West Valley.
